Andaba Integrated Ministries
Andaba Integrated Ministries was founded in 2007 by a young lady from British Columbia, Canada, when she traveled to the region to volunteer. She identified a significant need and, with a heart full of compassion, began sharing her passion with others. Soon, nine children were sponsored. From that simple beginning, Andaba has progressively grown, impacting local communities by sponsoring more than 150 children in the Jinja district. Many of these children have since graduated and become upstanding members of their communities.
Throughout our journey, we have discerned a clear calling to expand our reach into more communities in our district. As our name suggests, our work is diverse and holistic through our integrated ministries. We minister to communities by addressing critical areas such as education, healthcare, housing, water access, critical care, and micro-loans. We have heard the cries of impoverished children and families as they struggle to understand their painful circumstances. Their cries have inspired the creation of our name, Andaba Integrated Ministries, where “Andaba” in Ugandan culture means “God sees.” This name serves as a testament to our unwavering belief that God’s grace is upon us all, especially in moments of suffering.
Our vison radiates with the desire to work with local churches to reach the most poverty-stricken people in the area, which includes orphans and widows. We desire to reach the whole person: Physical, emotional, mental and spiritual and it’s inclusive of the whole community, from children to adults. We aim to reach out in love and give lasting hope to as many as we possibly can.
